An insider’s view on the future of Construction Employment Practices
2017 has seen a large focus from government and the media on self-employment within the construction industry. As part of the October 2017 NEC Build Show (part of UK Construction Week) and London Build Expo, Nick Pilgrim, Managing Director of EEBS – the construction payroll specialists, will be talking to visitors about the latest developments that effect construction employment practices in the UK today and more importantly, the likely future developments on the coming years and their impact on construction firms.
EEBS have been working with contractors since 2001, providing them with help, advice and construction employment solutions. EEBS continue to work with the UK’s leading experts in the field of employment law. Consequently, EEBS have developed a unique insight into both the needs of the industry, as well as how the courts, HMRC and UK Government’s take on the practices that effect the industry today will ultimately affect future regulation and compliance thereof.
Nick Pilgrim, MD of EEBS: “So far this year we have seen a parliamentary committee report into self-employment, The Taylor Review into employment practices and the Gig Economy, the reversal of employment tribunal fees and significant court cases including Uber and Pimlico Plumbers. There are significant changes afoot for the industry and I will provide people with an insight into the future for employment practices in the UK as well as answering any taxing questions they have”.
Colette Rayner, EEBS Sales & Marketing Manager: “The NEC Build Show & London Build Expo both present an exclusive opportunity for contractors of all sizes and from across all sectors of the industry to talk directly with us. We will provide them with compliance advice and answer their CIS payroll questions. Events like this are the perfect place to build new relationships and advise people on the importance of payroll compliance”.
